Happy Thursday!
BLACK LIVES MATTER VIGIL
On Saturday, September 22nd from 11:30am - 12:30pm, we'll convene at the intersection of Clarkson and Clayton in Ellisville. We'll have signs, but you're welcome to bring your own that uplift the message that Black Lives Matter.
Afterwards, please join us at Mod Pizza (15809 Fountain Plaza Drive) for lunch.
WE CAN MEETINGS
Saturday, September 22nd. 2:00pm - 4:00pm. 10124 St. Charles Rock Road. The Voting Rights Team, in conjunction with Indivisible STL, is hosting a voter protection training aimed at political candidates and those who volunteer for their campaigns. Anyone is welcome to attend. (This event will be identical to the event on 9/19.)
Thursday, September 27th. 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Ethical Society (9001 Clayton Road) The Policing Team will be meeting to strategize about conversations with candidates for elected office.
Monday, October 1st. 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Parkway UCC (2841 North New Ballas Road). The ASSIST team is hosting a meeting for Parkway parents, students, and community members to discuss school discipline in the district.
WE CAN ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you live in House District 70, 89, 98, 100, or 101 or Senate District 26, the Policing Team needs your help! They are conducting candidate interviews about racial justice and policing. If you're interested in meeting with a candidate from your district, please e-mail us as wecanstl@gmail.com with the subject "Policing Team Meeting." We'll send a separate e-mail about this as well.
As you may know, the Voting Rights Team will be participating in a trial in Jefferson City next week. If you're interested in caravanning to the trial on Monday, September 24th, please e-mail us directly at wecanstl@gmail.com. We'll be sending a separate e-mail about this later today.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Saturday, September 22nd. 11:00am - 8:00pm. Tower Grove Park. Taste of Black St. Louis will be the first celebration of Black-owned restaurants, shops, and more! The event is free to the public.
