Weekly Announcements - October 18th

Happy Thursday, y'all!


BLACK LIVES MATTER VIGIL

On Saturday, October 20th from 11:30am - 12:30pm, we'll convene in front of Kirkwood City Hall. We'll have signs, but you're welcome to bring your own that uplift the message that Black Lives Matter. 

Afterwards, please join us for lunch and a vigil sign making party at Eliot Chapel (100 S. Taylor Ave). Please refrain from bringing any food containing nuts. If you're able, bring a piece of foam core board for yourself and one to donate and any supplies you'd like to use or share for sign-decorating. 

WE CAN MEETINGS

  • Monday, October 22nd. 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Deaconess Foundation (1000 N. Vandeventer). Reimagining Public Safety with St. Louis Action Council -- a conversation on police and public safety reform. 

  • Thursday, October 25th. 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Ethical Society (9001 Clayton Road). The Policing Team will meet and discuss recent events and strategize for future elections. 


WE CAN ANNOUNCEMENT

  • Tuesday, October 23rd. 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Election Protection Training at Washington University. See attached flyer for more information. 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

  • Friday, October 19th. 6:30pm - 9:45pm. The Hate U Give Movie Screening and Discussion. 24:1 Cinema. See the Facebook event for more information.
