Happy Thursday!

BLACK LIVES MATTER VIGIL

On Saturday, October 6th from 11:30am - 12:30pm, we'll convene in Chesterfield at the intersection of Boone's Crossing and Chesterfield Airport Road. We'll have signs, but you're welcome to bring your own that uplift the message that Black Lives Matter.  Afterwards, please join us at Kaldi's (17211 Chesterfield Airport Road) for lunch and an ASSIST meeting. 

WE CAN MEETINGS

  • Saturday, October 6th. 1:00pm - 2:00pm. Kaldi's in Chesterfield. The ASSIST Team is hosting a meeting to hear updates on regional work on school discipline reform.


WE CAN ANNOUNCEMENT

  • If you live in House District 70, 89, 98, 100, or 101 or Senate District 26, the Policing Team needs your help! They are conducting candidate interviews about racial justice and policing. If you're interested in meeting with a candidate from your district, please e-mail us as wecanstl@gmail.com with the subject "Policing Team Meeting."

  • Our Voting Rights Team has finished their participation in the trial in Jeff City this week regarding Missouri's new voter photo ID rules. We eagerly await the results of the trial next week and thank them for their work thus far.

  • The ACLU is hiring canvassers for the school-to-prison pipeline awareness campaign.


COMMUNITY EVENTS

  • Saturday, October 6th. 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Dance the Vote.

  • Wednesday, October 10th. Last day to register to vote before the November Election! Text VOTE to 50409 to check your registration status.

  • Wednesday, October 10th. 6:30pm - 8:30pm. 4343 West Florissant Avenue. Forward Through Ferguson's State of the Report Town Hall #2.

  • Thursday, October 11th. 7:00pm - 8:30pm. Perspectives on Missouri's Vehicle Stop Report: Moving Past the Data Divide hosted by the Webster Groves Alliance for Interracial Dignity at the First Congregational Church (10 W. Lockwood Avenue).
