Happy Thursday, WE CAN friends!
BLACK LIVES MATTER VIGIL
On Saturday, September 1st from 11:30am - 12:30pm, we'll convene at the corner of Chesterfield Airport Road and Boone's Crossing in Chesterfield. We'll have signs, but you're welcome to bring your own that uplift the message that Black Lives Matter. Afterwards, please join us at Kaldi's (17211 Chesterfield Airport Road) for lunch and an ASSIST meeting focused on school discipline reform.
WE CAN MEETINGS
Saturday, September 1st. 1:00pm. Kaldi's (17211 Chesterfield Airport Road). The ASSIST Team will provide updates about the recent passage of the Kirkwood School District discipline policy, share strategies for the fall, and discuss increased engagement with the Parkway School District.
Wednesday, September 5th. 7:00pm. 12014 St. Charles Rock Road. The Voting Rights Team, in conjunction with Indivisible STL, is hosting mobilization events for folks wanting to become involved in a myriad of election protection strategies for November 6th.
Saturday, September 9th. 2:00pm. 12014 St. Charles Rock Road. (This event will be identical to the event on 9/5.)
WE CAN ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Leadership Team has recently developed a new communication policy which was discussed at length at our most recent public meeting (8/18/18). If you have any questions about the policy, please feel free to reach out to the Leadership Team by way of replying directly to this e-mail.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thursday, September 6th. 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Indian Trails Branch Library (8400 Delport Drive, Vinita Park, MO). Forward through Ferguson is hosting it's first State of the Report town hall to discuss the progress made since the release of the Ferguson Commission Report.
