Our History

The West County Community Action Network began as a vigil of community members shortly after the murder of Michael Brown Jr. in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. Since then, we have continued to hold vigils every Saturday to proclaim that Black Lives Matter and have grown in our work to address racism in our West County home which you can learn more about here.

We believe that the work of creating an anti-racist region is best done when in community with one another.

Here’s a bit of our community’s story.
